Debug Environment<br />

4.1 Introduction<br />

Setup and configuration for a Windows debug environment consists of five<br />

general steps:<br />

Build the firmware image (described earlier in Section 3).<br />

Install WinDbg on a Windows platform.<br />

Configure the host machine including software installation<br />

and host settings configuration.<br />

Install and configure the <strong>Intel</strong> UDK <strong>Debugger</strong> <strong>Tool</strong> including<br />

installation of the WinDbg extension commands.<br />

Connect the host and target systems.<br />

4.2 Configure the host machine<br />

To configure a host machine, install the debug solution first and then configure the<br />

host for debugging of the target platform. The following figure shows how the debug<br />

components interact on a Windows platform during a debug session.<br />
