Hospitality Awareness & Charity Event July 2011—Atlantica Hotel Halifax
Fifteen hotels and properties from the Halifax
Regional Municipality took over Victoria Park
to raise money for the IWK, while promoting
jobs in the tourism industry. The event included
hilarious "Minute to Win it" challenges,
tons of prizes, interactive booths and
company displays. 2011 marks the 15th year
that the Hospitality Human Resource Committee
has supported the IWK in their efforts
to improve the health care provided to sick or
injured children & women. Over the past 14
years, combined charitable events have
raised a total of $297,000‐‐ way to go!
Atlantica Halifax had a great team and, although
they did not win many (any) events,
they had a great time and supported a great
cause.

Atlantica Hotel & Marina Oak Island Put Together an Amazing Float
Atlantica Hotel & Marina Oak Island staff &
families put together an amazing float for the
Bridgewater Big Ex parade on July 26th and
the Western Shore parade on August 13th.
The float helped promote their Theme
Weekends which are almost as famous as
Oak Island!!! Check out the website to see
the new Theme Weekend line up for the 2012
season. Still to come this year: Murder on
the Shore (October 28—30, 2011), and the
Gala style New Years’ Eve event, which sells
out fast!
