Last Friday, I went to Belmont high and junior
prom. Oh my God, I can’t believe my eyes,
students all dressed up very fancy like a
movie star, like Oscar Award ceremony. I
haven’t seen anything like that in China. It
was held in Boston Park Plaza which is a very
good hotel. Students came to the hotel in Limo
car. We had great food and music. I could tell
students were having great deal of fun with
their friends, and so was I. But it was also
amazing how much money they spent on the
prom.
When I take a look at this whole thing again
and think more, beside the fancy and fun
parts of prom, as a matter of fact, prom does
give a lot of pressure to those kids who can
not afford to go or for those who are very
shy or have no date and friends to go with.

volunteer, and one was once Mike’s
boss. It’s nice to see old friends and get
to know new friends! We enjoyed
ourselves very much and had a
wonderful afternoon until we were apart.
Yesterday, Chen Jinfeng, Chen
Xiaoying, Zhao Jingru, Wang Yuan,
myself and some other American
friends were invited to Mike and
Martie’s home. We had a very typical
and wonderful Bar-B-Q there. It was
the best one I have ever had! Among
their American friends, there was one
I once met in my office in China (she
had a trip to China and came to see
Mike in our office), two had met us at
Geng Wen, Chen Xiaoying, Chen Jinfeng,
Matt and Martie Spaier, and Wang Yuan

Shueler took me to New York
Restaurant and Food Service show, the
biggest food and food service show I
have ever seen.
People say New York City is “the
capital of the world” for it is the global
epicenter of business, media and
culture. This great city is renowned for
its many superb restaurants that have a
rich tradition for providing exquisite
cuisine, courteous hospitality and
distinct surroundings. Every year since
1993, New York State Restaurant
Association owns and sponsors its
marvelous Restaurant & Food Service
Show, the region’s premier food service
event, to give the food service industry
fresh ideas, great inspiration and new
direction.
This year on Februry 24-26 at Jacob K.
Javits Convention Center comes the
ninth one. With more than 600
companies displaying over 1,000 lines
of their products and service, the show
provides everything in food service
industry. Food service professionals
can discover new suppliers and
