Thanks to assistant coach Robert Wyse and manager Michael Thomas <strong>for</strong> their help. Also, thank you to<br />
the parents who contributed by scoring, umpiring and their support. Also, to Tracey and David with their<br />
guidance early on, as we had no idea at the start, and it was reassuring to have that support.<br />
I enjoyed the smiles and the special moments every Saturday from the boys, particularly the last game when<br />
Tom Mabin cracked a square cut that raced to the boundary off Pine River’s quickest bowler, really made the<br />
coach (dad) feel proud. Well done TEAM!<br />

UNDER 9 BARSBY<br />
<strong>2009</strong> started off much the same as 2008. A lot of good individual cricket but not working as a team, however by<br />
week 3 this started to come together and we became more than competitive <strong>for</strong> the rest of the season.<br />
Once again there was a massive improvement in skill levels in all players. Kane Boulton, Oliver Flaherty and<br />
Jackson Dean all are taking their games to higher levels. James White, Bobby-Lee Hynes, Jack Mansfield and<br />
Ellis Nand showing great all round cricket skills. Week by week Patrick Lahy, Lily Puti and Myles McEwen<br />
improved their cricket skills and became very valuable players. Joseph Pitter only played the last few games of<br />
the season but added a lot to the team with his all round per<strong>for</strong>mances.<br />
Once again the parents need to be applauded <strong>for</strong> the ef<strong>for</strong>t they put into the season - all were willing helpers.<br />
Also the team manager Melanie Maskell <strong>for</strong> the behind the scenes work, scoring and running of Barsby’s<br />
season. Thank you.<br />

UNDER 10 RIMMINGTON<br />
Congratulations to the team <strong>for</strong> another terrific season. Everyone improved over the season, particularly in their<br />
fielding. This showed in their results with only 2 games lost. However, it was not just their cricket skills – their<br />
behaviour on the field was exemplary and their confidence continued to grow over the year.<br />
Ryan was again the club’s Junior Player of the Year with 577 runs, 15 wickets and an amazing 30 catches.<br />
Pearson, Darcy, Calum and Matthew D regularly kept the crowd entertained with some very big hitting. In<br />
addition, Harry E topped the bowling figures with 30 wickets but closely followed by Jacob, (in his first<br />
season!), who took 27. But everyone put in some great all round per<strong>for</strong>mances – Matthew B, Dean, Harry M,<br />
Jordon and Lachlan all gave strong support with each providing some marvellous individual per<strong>for</strong>mances.<br />
The team was supported by a great set of parents who genuinely enjoy the games each Saturday and the ef<strong>for</strong>ts<br />
the boys put into their cricket. And thanks to Tracey and the club <strong>for</strong> all the work that went into organising what<br />
turned out to be another great season.<br />

UNDER 10 BUGLAR<br />
The Under 10 side <strong>for</strong> <strong>2009</strong>-10 remained unchanged with the addition of three newcomers in Lachlan Brown,<br />
Luke Twomey and Thomas Clench. All players have improved their skills level as the season progressed.<br />
Our bowling during the summer was a strong point. Often at this level you find players sending down numerous<br />
wides. Sandgate Redcliffe Buglar didn’t have such problems, always striving <strong>for</strong> ‘top of off stump’’ which is a<br />
tribute to our specialist bowling Coach Mr Alex Hams.<br />
Training was always well attended and plenty of fun. Fielding and especially the catching aspect of this great<br />
game was our focus. This resulted in some great ‘grabs’ being taken during the season. We won’t <strong>for</strong>get a<br />
‘ripper’ taken by Joshua Seaton at mid off or Lachie Brown’s running catch at Point. Dane Hoffmann was<br />
clearly our safest pair of hands in the field. From a personal ‘Keepers “point of view it was very pleasing to see<br />
Angus Evans behind the stumps, lovely soft hands and good anticipation, well done Angus...always good to see<br />
a left hand bat and keeper.
