Membership renewals
Around Christmas time, a number of yogis did not
receive their Winter issue of News South East. Whilst
a few newsletters may have been lost in the post, most
of the non-deliveries were due to membership not
being renewed as soon as reminders were issued. The
printers receive a current membership listing when they are due
to mail out each issue of the mag. If your name does not appear
on that listing, you won’t get NSE.
Recently the BWY moved to a rolling membership system,
so it is no longer the case that everyone’s membership runs out
on 31st October. Central Office sends out renewal reminders six
weeks prior, mainly by email (if you do not have email then you
receive a postal reminder). These emails are likely to be diverted
to Spam if you have a high level of protection on your system..
Payment has to be processed before you can be shown as
‘active’ on the database, which can take up to 10 working days.
For all members, lapsed membership means that you will
not receive emailed reminders about forthcoming regional
events, and you will not be recognised by the website as a
BWY member if you try to download a booking form for an
event. For teachers, lapsed membership means lapsed
insurance as well as potentially not receiving the regional
newsletter and Spectrum, so to avoid this, why not set up a direct
debit to ensure that your membership stays ‘active’.
