• Marine Disposal:<br />
Any effluent discharged into the marine environment shall meet the specifications<br />
given below in Table 2.9, which are same as or more stringent than the discharge<br />
limits into the marine environment as per MD 7/84.<br />

2.4.4 Accidental Releases to Land and Water<br />
<strong>PDO</strong> specification SP-1007 on accidental releases to land and water focuses on<br />
minimising the effect on groundwater, and soil. The requirements are outlined below:<br />
- Equipment, processes, pipelines etc. containing material harmful to the<br />
environment shall be designed, maintained, operated and abandoned to prevent<br />
accidental releases to the environment<br />
- In case of a loss of containment to the environment, the contamination shall be<br />
assessed and the soil and groundwater shall be cleaned to a level compatible with<br />
the environmental quality standard of the receiving environment (available EP 95-<br />
0385)<br />
