SUBSTRATES<br />
<strong>Hot</strong> <strong>Press</strong> adhesives will adhere<br />
to many kinds <strong>of</strong> boards. For the<br />
best mounting results, however,<br />
we recommend using boards<br />
that have been developed with<br />
mounting in mind. <strong>Hot</strong> <strong>Press</strong><br />
specialise in over- sized boards<br />
and popular cut sizes.<br />
WHITE DISPLAY BOARD<br />
This popular board has won a multitude<br />
<strong>of</strong> fans in recent years. White Display<br />
Board is a 2000 micron board with a<br />
very dense core. Unlike many mount<br />
boards - which are s<strong>of</strong>ter and more<br />
open structured - White Display Board<br />
does not absorb moisture, Additionally<br />
the core is smoother than ordinary pulp<br />
boards, reducing the effect <strong>of</strong> orange<br />
peel on glossy work. <strong>The</strong> clay-coated<br />
high white board liners act as a good<br />
key for adhesives and also help repel<br />
moisture. As with all <strong>Hot</strong> <strong>Press</strong> boards, White Display Board is a pH<br />
neutral product, priced competitively for such a specialised product.<br />
A 1250 micron version is also available.<br />
EASYMOUNT DRY MOUNT CARD<br />
This is a heat-activated board that really works! Easymount Dry<br />
Mount Card has the same properties and advantages as White<br />
Display Board – with the addition <strong>of</strong> a dry adhesive coating.<br />
FOAM CENTRED BOARD<br />
For high-gloss photography or situations where weight is a<br />
consideration, we recommend our Foam Centred Board. Our<br />
standard version is 5mm thick, faced with high-quality clay coated<br />
liners for a good adhesive key. <strong>The</strong> dense core <strong>of</strong> this board is<br />
suitable for processing in a glass top vacuum press.<br />
<strong>The</strong> coating works best at 90ºC, the same as all other <strong>Hot</strong> <strong>Press</strong><br />
products. At this temperature your work has time to breathe, which<br />
helps prevent air becoming trapped beneath your artwork.<br />
STIKIBOARD SELF ADHESIVE BOARD<br />
As its name implies, this 2000 micron board has a permanent,<br />
pressure-sensitive adhesive coating. For best performance, we<br />
suggest that this board be used in conjunction with a JetMounter<br />
or other type <strong>of</strong> laminator. A laminator will help assure a strong bond<br />
and smooth finish, even on photographs and other smooth-backed<br />
artwork. A 1300 micron version is also available.
