TOOLS OF THE TRADE
Hot Press offer a comprehensive range of finishing tools
designed to make mounting and laminating easier and
more efficient.
TACKING IRON
Used to tack Dry Mounting
Tissue to the back of prints and then to a substrate.
The small shoe iron is pre- set at a fixed temperature.
CUTTING MATS
This cutting mat is a tri-layered,
self-healing PVC (vinyl) mat
designed to protect your work
surface from blades or knives.
Ideal for covering all of your
worktables, this anti-slip, PVC (vinyl) surface self-heals scars and
scratches and helps to keep cutting tools and perforators sharp.
PIERCING TOOL
A metal roller with perforating
spikes, used to create pin -
sized holes in unpierced PVC
films, allowing moisture and air
to escape during the laminating process.
DUST REMOVAL SYSTEM ROLLER & PADS
A great tool for any mounting or finishing room, the Dust Removal
System (DRS) roller removes dust and dirt from prints, substrates
or film without leaving a tacky residue. The
roller is durable with a steel handle and can
be cleaned easily by rolling over a special
adhesive pad (sold separately).
OLFA KNIVES
Hot Press offers
different types of
cutting knives:
an ergonomically
designed heavy duty cutting
knife featuring rubber grip inserts, and
more economical standard utility knife. Both use
replaceable snap-off blades.
ANTI-STATIC BRUSH

A special cleaning brush with conductive fibres, which gently whisk
away harmful dust, lint and dirt and dissipate static.
Used to clean prints prior
to lamination.
A Grounding cord
is included.
THE BIG PURPLE RULER
A cutting edge safety ruler ideal for
trimming. Its non skid pads prevent
twisting and keep the trim straight and a
safety guard prevents the cutting blade
from riding up onto fingers and hands.
The bright purple colour makes it easy to find.
STRETCHER PLIERS
Metal jawed pliers used to clamp
the canvas when applying it to stretcher bars.
MULE AND WHIP
The Mule is a safe and convenient mobile storage cart, which can
hold up to 12 rolls of Hot Press laminating
films, mounting adhesives canvases and
specialty media. It fits through
standard commercial doors (36”,
914 mm), holds up to 800 lbs.
(363 kg) and accommodates 2”
and 3” (51mm and 76mm) cores.
The Hot Press Whip can be used
in conjunction with the Mule to
allow easy lifting of heavy rolls of
laminate and media from either the Mule or the floor.
MAGNETIC LAMINATOR CADDY
Keeps gloves, eraser blocks, tape
measures, Zippy Cutter and pencils
close at hand, yet away from the
laminator nip and emergency stops.
Strong rubber-covered magnets
attach the black basket firmly while
protecting the surface finish.
