The Landlords’ <strong>Guide</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Electrical</strong> <strong>Safety</strong> <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>Scotland</strong> is produced pr<strong>in</strong>cipally for landlords.<br />

However, electrical contrac<strong>to</strong>rs, <strong>in</strong>stallers and<br />

tenants may also f<strong>in</strong>d the <strong>in</strong>formation useful.<br />

The aim <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Guide</strong> is <strong>to</strong> provide landlords<br />

with <strong>in</strong>formation <strong>to</strong> assist them with meet<strong>in</strong>g<br />

their legal obligations <strong>in</strong> terms <strong>of</strong> electrical<br />

safety and <strong>to</strong> understand their responsibilities<br />

<strong>to</strong> help keep their tenants safe. To assist<br />

readers, references <strong>to</strong> other publications<br />

and/or website addresses are provided with<strong>in</strong><br />

this <strong>Guide</strong>, but it is not our <strong>in</strong>tention that<br />

landlords purchase such publications.<br />

This <strong>Guide</strong> has been produced by the<br />

<strong>Electrical</strong> <strong>Safety</strong> Council * with the support <strong>of</strong><br />

the follow<strong>in</strong>g bodies:<br />
