proportion of potato is produced in the ASARECA region, implying considerable potential to<br />
expand chips marketing among the countries involved. In the ASARECA region, potato is one of<br />
the most important food security crops consumed by a large proportion of the population.<br />
However, there is a lack of market research on fresh and frozen potato chips processing,<br />
consumption and marketing in eastern and central African region. This report, therefore, bridges<br />
such a gap and presents baseline information on chips processing, consumption and marketing<br />
practices in selected major cities and towns of Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and<br />
Kenya. Moreover, the report investigates the potential that exists for chips processing,<br />
consumption and marketing as a new source of demand for potatoes.<br />
