In all the cities that were sampled for this study, chips are a common menu item in all the bars
and restaurants which are either parts of the hotels or independent or particularly franchisedtype
fast food restaurants. In all cities that have influx of tourists like Mombassa, hoteliers use
menus that are familiar to the visiting tourists and such menus invariably include chips.
