Personal protection gear
STIHL’S personal protection gear for forest workers is based on an intelligent
functional system: the relatively thin multi-layer inlay is made up of
innumerable long fibres. If the chain cuts through the outer layer of fabric,
whole fibre bundles are pulled out which block the drive and nose sprocket,
thus bringing the chain to a stand-still. This considerably reduces the risk
of injury.
