and tracks one after 

another in an atmosphere

Implementation of Biological Toilet for 

Lakshadweep Islands 

Kalpeni: As the installation 

of DRDO Technology based 

bio-toilets is in progress and 

going to be installed in the 

entire union territory of 

Lakshadweep, a meeting 

was organized by the 

department of Science and 

Technology on 29 th 

December, 2012 with all 

departments heads and 

Village (Dweep) Panchayat 

and District Panchayat 

Members. 

The meeting was 

presided over by Shri. A.P. 

Attakoya, Sub Divisional 

Officer. Shri. A.M. 

Kasmikoya, Chairperson, 

VDP addressed the 

gathering on the purpose of 

the meeting. The Scientist 

Dr. Anurag Pandey from 

DRDE, (DRDO), Gwalior, 

Madhya Pradesh delivered 

in details on bio-toilet 

technology, interacted with 

respected members, very 

well rectified the queries 

and satisfied the doubts 

raised by the participants 

regarding the DRDO Bio- 

Toilets, along with Shri. 

Mohammed Safuvan. U.P. 

and Shri. Abdul Nazar. P.I, 

Junior Engineers of the 

Department of Science 

and Technology.

Scientist, DRDO, Gwalior, 

explained the prospects of 

bio toilets, actions and 

applications, advantages 

of the bio toilets in 

Union Territories like 

Lakshadweep where land 

availability is much less 

and maintenance of 

conventional toilets is 

expensive. He also 

pointed out on the usage 

of the sewage water for 

agricultural purpose. 

Shri.A.K.Shaikoya is the 

only private beneficiary of 

the bio-toilet installed on 

trail basis at kalpeni. It has 

been used for the last 

two years. Beneficiary 

explained his experience 

and informed the gathering 

that till date the bio toilets 

are much better. No 

difficulties like over flow, 

fault smell or maintenance 

occurred.

clarified the doubts and 

answered the questions 

posed by the participants. 

At the end it was concluded 

with a note that the 

technology of bio toilet is 

well adoptable in the 

island.

magic show by local artists 

and artists from mainland 

were staged on both nights 

in the Golden Jubilee Park 

in the presence of 

jam-packed audience.

the events of NMF. Finally 

he extended vote of thanks 

to each and every one who

tea shops and outlets 

temporarily arranged 

around the Golden Jubilee 

Park were very useful to 

cater the needs of people 

in general during the 

festival day and night. The 

department of Electricity 

made illumination with 

attractive decoration lights 

in the festival area as a part 

of the Golden Jubilee 

celebrations of Electricity 

in Lakshadweep. The 

fireworks organized by the 

Fire Force during nights 

were thrilled by the 

spectators. The two days 

programmes were well 

attended by people from all 

walks of life in a festive 

mood and the National 

Minicoy Fest was 

successful by all means 

with the active participation 

of entire people of the

3. The contractor should arrange all the materials required for hauling/launching. 

4. If any damage occurs of the boat due to negligence or carelessness of contractor, 

the cost shall be recovered from the contractor. 

5. The period of contract will be for a period of 2 years from the date of acceptance of 

work. 

6. The tenders should be neatly typed in one side of each sheet. 

7. The rate should be quoted in figures and words neatly and legibly. 

8. If the tenderer cancel the quotation the ENID will be forfeited to the department. 

9. Income Tax on 2% and surcharge 3% on Income Tax as Educational CESS are to be 

recovered from the payment. 

10. The quotation can be rejected by the Director, Science & Technology, and Kavaratti 

without assigning any reason.

Sealed quotation are invited from interested parties/dealers/suppliers for supply of good quality fresh vegetables 

and fruits as specified in the schedule attached herewith for a period of two years from the date of awarding of the 

supply order. The quotation in a sealed cover superscribed “Quotation for supply of fresh vegetables and fruit for 

SPORTS, Lakshadweep” should reach the Asst. General Manager, SPORTS Unit Kochi on or before 1500 hrs on 

21.01.2013. The quotations received so will be opened at 15.30 hrs on the same day in the SPORTS Office Kochi. 

The quotations should be accompanied by an EMD of Rs. 10,000/- in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of 

“General Manager, SPORTS, U.T. of Lakshadweep, Kavaratti”. Any quotation without EMD or superscription, unsealed 

and does not full fill the terms and conditions will be rejected. The 

tender notice is subjected to the terms & conditions. The terms & conditions of the tender and Schedule to the tender 

are available in our website www.lakshadweep.nic.in. 

TERMS and CONDITION : 

1. Supplier should supply the items at wharf/ship or any other place specified by the Assistant General manager, 

SPORTS Kochi at his own risk and cost as per the order of Assistant General Manager/concerned Managers from 

time to time. 

2. Supplier should supply the items in good condition, the vegetables and fruits should be fresh and any items found 

not in good quality, and not to the satisfaction of the SPORTS such items will be rejected and no payment will be 

made for it. 

3. The items should be supplied by the supplier on getting short notice/order from the SPORTS on the basis of 

indent. 

4. Suppliers of vegetables and fruits should enclose the copy of license from Munsipality/Corporation/Panchayath 

for the sales of vegetables and fruits. 

5. The last date of submission of the quotation is 21.01.2013 and the same will be opened on the same day at 

15.30 hrs in the presence of the quotationers or their authorized representatives. 

6. Quotation in sealed cover may be addressed and delivered in the office of the Asst. General Manager, SPORTS, 

Kochi on all working days from 10.00 hrs to17.00 hrs. 

7. Quotation must be accompanied by earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs. 10.000/- in favour of General Manager, 

SPORTS, Kavaratti payable at Syndicate Bank, Kavaratti. 

8. All the rights are reserved and rest with Managing Director, SPORTS Kavaratti, U. T. of Lakshadweep. In case of 

any dispute on quotations, the decisions of Managing Director, SPORTS shall be final and binding in all respect. 

9. Quotations with the schedule will be available at the office of the Managing Director, SPORTS Kavaratti or Asst. 

General Manager/Manager SPORTS Kochi, Kadmath, Kalpeni, Agatti and Minicoy. 

10. Indents will be placed to supplier for supplying the item at least 24 hrs, in advance at normal course. However in 

emergency, indents will be placed at any time depending upto the necessity. 

11. If the supplier failed to supply the items at the place and time specified by theSPORTS two times, SPORTS will 

have the right to terminate the contract at any time with an advance notice of two days (48 hrs). 

12. The rate should be for delivery of the articles at ship or any other place specifield by the SPORTS as per the 

direction of the Officer in-Charge of SPORTS. 

13. No representation for enhancement of price once accepted will be considered during the tenure of contract. 

14. Lowest quotation will be accepted subject to quality after inspection of sample and documents, ability to supply in 

time etc. 

15. No advance will be paid and the payment of cost of materialswill be made only after checking the items by the 

representatives deputed for the purpose also after complete satisfaction of genuineness or specificication of the 

items. 

16. No transport charges will be made for the articles supplied under any circumstance. 

17. The selected supplier shall execute a performance guarantee for an amount of Rs. 50,000/- with SPORTS. If 

supplier fails to supply the vegetables and fruits as per the intend for two times, then the performance guarantee 

will be forfeited. 

18. The dispute if any between the supplier/suppliers and the SPORTS Lakshadweep will be settled at District and 

Session Court, Kavaratti and the contract will be interpreted under Indian Law thus. 

19. The acceptance and rejection of tender is reserved with Managing Director, SPORTS without citing any reason.

Sealed and superscribed quotations are invited from the interested and experienced 

artists or their agencies for preparation and display of Tableaux for the Department of Fisheries 

in connection with Celebration of Republic Day-2013. The quotation in sealed cover 

superscribed as Quotation for Preparation and Display of Tableaux shall be submitted to 

the undersigned on or before 9.01.2013 at 15.00 hrs. (3.00 pm). The quotations received 

will be opened in the Directorate at 15.30 hrs. (3.30 pm) in the presence of tenderers or their 

representatives presented in time. Quotation should be submitted along with Demand Draft 

for Rs. 1400/- as EMD drawn in favour of Director of Fisheries, U.T. of Lakshadweep, Kavaratti 

encashable at Syndicate Bank, Kavaratti. The quotation received without EMD and after due 

date and time specified will not be accepted. The lowest quotation will be accepted subject 

to the terms and conditions prescribed below : 

Terms and Conditions : 

1. Quotations shall be the complete satisfactory preparation and display of tableaux as per 

the specimen of the structure and including the vehicle with driver to present the tableaux on 

Republic Day at Kavaratti, GSSS Stadium ground. 

2. Lowest quotation will be accepted subject to the eligibility and efficiency to arrange and 

present the tableaux in time. 

3. The quotation will be accepted in all working days up to 5.00 pm till the last date and time 

mentioned in the quotation notice. 

4. The rate quoted shall include all charges like men and material required for fabrication, 

labour, transportation, charges vehicle, tools etc. and no enhancement of rate at any 

circumstances will be allowed. 

5. No part payment will be made for the work/cost of the articles purchased and the payment 

will be made only after presentation of the tableaux satisfactorily. 

6. All the work connected tableaux should be finished/completed and keep ready for 

presentation by 25 th January, 2012 evening at 5 pm. 

7. The vehicle shall be a bigger type not less than (7xMtrs) having spacious space to 

present the tableaux. 

8. Theme of the tableaux and the works related to preparation of tableaux can be had from 

the Assistant Director of Fisheries/ Fisheries Officer and work should be carried out with their 

direction. 

9. The work will be monitored/supervised by an authorised officer/staff of the department 

and his instructions shall be accepted in any of the stage of work. 

10. The quotationer shall ensure the operation of the vehicle so as to present the tableaux 

successfully on the Republic Day (26.01.2013). 

11. The Director of Fisheries reserves the right to accept or reject the quotation/quotations 

with or without assigning reasons. Moreover, he is also reserves the right to cancel the work 

after awarding the work to any agency/person at any stage.
