Lakshadweep Islands<br />
Kalpeni: As the installation<br />
of DRDO Technology based<br />
bio-toilets is in progress and<br />
going to be installed in the<br />
entire union territory of<br />
Lakshadweep, a meeting<br />
was organized by the<br />
department of Science and<br />
Technology on 29 th<br />
December, 2012 with all<br />
departments heads and<br />
Village (Dweep) Panchayat<br />
and District Panchayat<br />
Members.<br />
The meeting was<br />
presided over by Shri. A.P.<br />
Attakoya, Sub Divisional<br />
Officer. Shri. A.M.<br />
Kasmikoya, Chairperson,<br />
VDP addressed the<br />
gathering on the purpose of<br />
the meeting. The Scientist<br />
Dr. Anurag Pandey from<br />
DRDE, (DRDO), Gwalior,<br />
Madhya Pradesh delivered<br />
in details on bio-toilet<br />
technology, interacted with<br />
respected members, very<br />
well rectified the queries<br />
and satisfied the doubts<br />
raised by the participants<br />
regarding the DRDO Bio-<br />
Toilets, along with Shri.<br />
Mohammed Safuvan. U.P.<br />
and Shri. Abdul Nazar. P.I,<br />
Junior Engineers of the<br />
Department of Science<br />

Dr.Anurag Pandey,<br />
Scientist, DRDO, Gwalior,<br />
explained the prospects of<br />
bio toilets, actions and<br />
applications, advantages<br />
of the bio toilets in<br />
Union Territories like<br />
Lakshadweep where land<br />
availability is much less<br />
and maintenance of<br />
conventional toilets is<br />
expensive. He also<br />
pointed out on the usage<br />
of the sewage water for<br />
agricultural purpose.<br />
Shri.A.K.Shaikoya is the<br />
only private beneficiary of<br />
the bio-toilet installed on<br />
trail basis at kalpeni. It has<br />
been used for the last<br />
two years. Beneficiary<br />
explained his experience<br />
and informed the gathering<br />
that till date the bio toilets<br />
are much better. No<br />
difficulties like over flow,<br />
fault smell or maintenance<br />
occurred.<br />

At the end it was concluded<br />
with a note that the<br />
technology of bio toilet is<br />
well adoptable in the<br />

festival day and night. The<br />
department of Electricity<br />
made illumination with<br />
attractive decoration lights<br />
in the festival area as a part<br />
of the Golden Jubilee<br />

in Lakshadweep. The<br />
fireworks organized by the<br />
Fire Force during nights<br />
were thrilled by the<br />
spectators. The two days<br />
programmes were well<br />
attended by people from all<br />
walks of life in a festive<br />

TERMS AND CONDITION<br />
1. An Amount of equal to 2.5% of the total value of the quoted items should be<br />
furnished as E. M. D along with tender. This can be furnished by means of Demand<br />
Draft in favour of Director, Science & Technology. Kavaratti drawn on Syndicate Bank,<br />
Kavaratti and encashable at Syndicate Bank, Kavaratti. Tenders without the prescribed<br />
E. M. D will be rejected.<br />
2. The rates for each type of boats should be shown separately for hauling and<br />
launching of boat.<br />
3. The contractor should arrange all the materials required for hauling/launching.<br />
4. If any damage occurs of the boat due to negligence or carelessness of contractor,<br />
the cost shall be recovered from the contractor.<br />
5. The period of contract will be for a period of 2 years from the date of acceptance of<br />
work.<br />
6. The tenders should be neatly typed in one side of each sheet.<br />
7. The rate should be quoted in figures and words neatly and legibly.<br />
8. If the tenderer cancel the quotation the ENID will be forfeited to the department.<br />
9. Income Tax on 2% and surcharge 3% on Income Tax as Educational CESS are to be<br />
recovered from the payment.<br />
10. The quotation can be rejected by the Director, Science & Technology, and Kavaratti<br />

TERMS and CONDITION :<br />
1. Supplier should supply the items at wharf/ship or any other place specified by the Assistant General manager,<br />
SPORTS Kochi at his own risk and cost as per the order of Assistant General Manager/concerned Managers from<br />

2. Supplier should supply the items in good condition, the vegetables and fruits should be fresh and any items found<br />
not in good quality, and not to the satisfaction of the SPORTS such items will be rejected and no payment will be<br />
made for it.<br />
3. The items should be supplied by the supplier on getting short notice/order from the SPORTS on the basis of<br />
indent.<br />
4. Suppliers of vegetables and fruits should enclose the copy of license from Munsipality/Corporation/Panchayath<br />
for the sales of vegetables and fruits.<br />
5. The last date of submission of the quotation is 21.01.2013 and the same will be opened on the same day at<br />
15.30 hrs in the presence of the quotationers or their authorized representatives.<br />

7. Quotation must be accompanied by earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs. 10.000/- in favour of General Manager,<br />
SPORTS, Kavaratti payable at Syndicate Bank, Kavaratti.<br />
8. All the rights are reserved and rest with Managing Director, SPORTS Kavaratti, U. T. of Lakshadweep. In case of<br />
any dispute on quotations, the decisions of Managing Director, SPORTS shall be final and binding in all respect.<br />
9. Quotations with the schedule will be available at the office of the Managing Director, SPORTS Kavaratti or Asst.<br />
General Manager/Manager SPORTS Kochi, Kadmath, Kalpeni, Agatti and Minicoy.<br />
10. Indents will be placed to supplier for supplying the item at least 24 hrs, in advance at normal course. However in<br />
emergency, indents will be placed at any time depending upto the necessity.<br />
11. If the supplier failed to supply the items at the place and time specified by theSPORTS two times, SPORTS will<br />
have the right to terminate the contract at any time with an advance notice of two days (48 hrs).<br />
12. The rate should be for delivery of the articles at ship or any other place specifield by the SPORTS as per the<br />
direction of the Officer in-Charge of SPORTS.<br />
13. No representation for enhancement of price once accepted will be considered during the tenure of contract.<br />
14. Lowest quotation will be accepted subject to quality after inspection of sample and documents, ability to supply in<br />
time etc.<br />
15. No advance will be paid and the payment of cost of materialswill be made only after checking the items by the<br />
representatives deputed for the purpose also after complete satisfaction of genuineness or specificication of the<br />
items.<br />
16. No transport charges will be made for the articles supplied under any circumstance.<br />
17. The selected supplier shall execute a performance guarantee for an amount of Rs. 50,000/- with SPORTS. If<br />
supplier fails to supply the vegetables and fruits as per the intend for two times, then the performance guarantee<br />
will be forfeited.<br />
18. The dispute if any between the supplier/suppliers and the SPORTS Lakshadweep will be settled at District and<br />
Session Court, Kavaratti and the contract will be interpreted under Indian Law thus.<br />
19. The acceptance and rejection of tender is reserved with Managing Director, SPORTS without citing any reason.<br />

QUOTATION NOTICE<br />
Sealed and superscribed quotations are invited from the interested and experienced<br />
artists or their agencies for preparation and display of Tableaux for the Department of Fisheries<br />
in connection with Celebration of Republic Day-2013. The quotation in sealed cover<br />
superscribed as Quotation for Preparation and Display of Tableaux shall be submitted to<br />
the undersigned on or before 9.01.2013 at 15.00 hrs. (3.00 pm). The quotations received<br />
will be opened in the Directorate at 15.30 hrs. (3.30 pm) in the presence of tenderers or their<br />
representatives presented in time. Quotation should be submitted along with Demand Draft<br />
for Rs. 1400/- as EMD drawn in favour of Director of Fisheries, U.T. of Lakshadweep, Kavaratti<br />
encashable at Syndicate Bank, Kavaratti. The quotation received without EMD and after due<br />
date and time specified will not be accepted. The lowest quotation will be accepted subject<br />
to the terms and conditions prescribed below :<br />
Terms and Conditions :<br />
1. Quotations shall be the complete satisfactory preparation and display of tableaux as per<br />
the specimen of the structure and including the vehicle with driver to present the tableaux on<br />
Republic Day at Kavaratti, GSSS Stadium ground.<br />
2. Lowest quotation will be accepted subject to the eligibility and efficiency to arrange and<br />
present the tableaux in time.<br />
3. The quotation will be accepted in all working days up to 5.00 pm till the last date and time<br />
mentioned in the quotation notice.<br />
4. The rate quoted shall include all charges like men and material required for fabrication,<br />
labour, transportation, charges vehicle, tools etc. and no enhancement of rate at any<br />
circumstances will be allowed.<br />
5. No part payment will be made for the work/cost of the articles purchased and the payment<br />
will be made only after presentation of the tableaux satisfactorily.<br />
6. All the work connected tableaux should be finished/completed and keep ready for<br />
presentation by 25 th <strong>January</strong>, 2012 evening at 5 pm.<br />
7. The vehicle shall be a bigger type not less than (7xMtrs) having spacious space to<br />
present the tableaux.<br />
8. Theme of the tableaux and the works related to preparation of tableaux can be had from<br />
the Assistant Director of Fisheries/ Fisheries Officer and work should be carried out with their<br />
direction.<br />
9. The work will be monitored/supervised by an authorised officer/staff of the department<br />
and his instructions shall be accepted in any of the stage of work.<br />
10. The quotationer shall ensure the operation of the vehicle so as to present the tableaux<br />
successfully on the Republic Day (26.01.2013).<br />
11. The Director of Fisheries reserves the right to accept or reject the quotation/quotations<br />
with or without assigning reasons. Moreover, he is also reserves the right to cancel the work<br />
after awarding the work to any agency/person at any stage.<br />
