Very few changes occurred to the <strong>Nesbitt</strong> <strong>House</strong> between 1914 and 1966, when it passed out of the<br />

<strong>Nesbitt</strong> family. In the 1930s, the widow of J.J. <strong>Nesbitt</strong>, Mollie Lee <strong>Nesbitt</strong>, followed the local trend of<br />

“updating” some of the interior features with Colonial Revival style elements. The first owners after<br />

the <strong>Nesbitt</strong> family extended the frame porches seen at the rear of the house in 1914 to a full-length<br />

enclosed porch covered by a shed roof. This was done in the 1960s. Shortly thereafter, the shed roof<br />

porch that extends to the east off of this enclosed porch was added.<br />
