This Austrian star has been a<br />
top U.S. seller for several years.<br />
It is produced by the Mittelbach<br />
family, now in its 5th generation,<br />
at the Tegernseerhof wine<br />
estate located in Austria’s<br />
Wachau region. The property<br />
dates back to the Middle Ages,<br />
with some of its structures built<br />
in 1176 by Benedictine monks.<br />
The vineyards sit on steep<br />
terraces, where grapes receive<br />
the perfect amount of sunlight<br />
for ripening and where stones<br />
keeps the vines warm at night.<br />
The “T” rosé is 100 percent<br />
Zweigelt, the best known grape<br />
in Austria, which produces<br />
red and rosé wines with deep<br />
berry flavor, soft spice and<br />
light tannins. The wine is just<br />
a hint deeper than Provencal<br />
rosés. Its aromas will jump out<br />
at you, as will its flavors, which<br />
include cherry, strawberry, and a<br />
surprising hint of watermelon.<br />
