ANASTACIA
FATBOY
SLIM
Fatboy Slim’s new
record, Halfway
Between The Gutter
and The Stars, is
fresh with all the
street beats, pop
hooks, big rock samples
and groove as
his enormously successful
platinum CD,
You’ve Come a Long
Way Baby. Fatboy
Slim has this time
enlisted funk diva Macy Gray to front two tracks,
“Love Life” and “Demons.” Also, UMPG’s own
funk legend Bootsy Collins plays bass on
“Weapon Of Choice.” The true appeal of “Halfway
Between The Gutter And The Stars” is Fatboy
Slim’s gift for bridging the gap between underground
club culture and mainstream pop accessibility.
Rolling Stone gave the record a three and
1/2 star review.
ueled by the success of her two million selling, No. 1 single, “I’m
Outta Love,” Anastacia’s debut album, Not That Kind
(Epic/Daylight), has sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide and has
Internationale De L’Annee) at the M6 Awards in France (the French
equivalent to MTV) beating out pop stars Christina Aguilera, Shola
Ama, Enrique Iglesias, Moby and Britney Spears. Based on her worldwide
record sales, she has also been chosen as Best New Artist by the
World Music Awards, which will be held in Monaco on May 2, and televised
worldwide and as a primetime ABC-TV special in June.
The CD is now set to debut in the U.S. in Spring 2001. Anastacia
performed with Sir Elton John on his CBS/VH1 special at Madison
Square Garden. The show was recorded live for his “One Night Only”
