4 MILLION CDS SINCE FEB. 2000!
Universal Music Publishing Group is currently dominating
rock radio with U2, GODSMACK, 3 DOORS DOWN
and FUEL. The recent signing of BLINK-182 (see Page
7) brings another worldwide selling multi-platinum rock
group into the UMPG fold, solidifying the continuing
strategy to work closely with UMG sister labels.
3 DOORS DOWN
Having received Best New Group of the Year by Billboard
Music awards, their incredible story just keeps getting better.
The debut CD, The Better Life (Republic/Universal),
was RIAA certified 4X platinum in October. Their second
single, “Loser,” topped R&R’s Rock and Active Rock
charts, holding the No. 1
position for months. The

first single, “Kryptonite,” won Billboard Music Award’s Best Rock
Track of the Year. It was also named R&R’s No. 1 Rock Song of the
year and No. 1 Rock Track of the Year by FMQB. In May, the single
enabled the band to be the first to accomplish a No. 1 in four
radio formats simultaneously.
FUEL
Fuel’s new CD, Something
Like Human, is certified Gold
and continues to gain
momentum. The first single,
“Hemorrhage (In My
Hands),” topped R&R’s radio
rock charts and held the No.
1 position on the Alternative
Rock charts for six weeks.
GODSMACK
In October, Godsmack
released their sophomore
aggro-rock CD entitled,
FUEL KEEPS U.S. ROCK RADIO “Awake” (Republic/
CHARTS BURNING!
Universal). The first single,
“Awake,” reached No. 1 on
R&R’s Active Rock chart.
Their self-titled debut CD went triple platinum and generated
three consecutive Top 5 Rock Tracks, “Keep Away,” Voodoo,”
and “Whatever.”
