"Tnis House condoles the sudden accidental death of Dr. Shrikant Jichkar, Journalist, great scholar with maximum number of academic degrzes whereby his name 'appeared in the Limca Book of World Record, who held every possible position in the Political life like MLA, MP, Minister of State for Home Affairs (Maharashtra) and in bureaucratic field as IAS and IPS Officer who devoted his life towards helping the tribal people near Himalayan terrain died on the 2nd June, 2004 in a road accident and this House expresses its heartfelt condolences and convey the deep sense of sorrow and sympathy to the bereaved family."
