Borusan Çağdaş Sanat Koleksiyonu’ndan Seçki
Sürekli olarak yeni alımlarla gelişen, sanatçılara verilen özel siparişlerle büyüyen ve çerçevesini
genişleten bir koleksiyonun sergilemesi nasıl yapılabilir Hedefi yeni medya sanatını geniş çerçevede
izleyicilere sunmak olan bir müze koleksiyonunda, geçiçi sergiler ile var olan koleksiyon eserleri
arasında nasıl bir diyalog kurulabilir Borusan Çağdaş Sanat Koleksiyonu’ndan hazırlanan ve “Segment”
başlığıyla izleyiciye sunulan seçkiler, bu soruya ışık tutan bir sergileme modelini oluşturmaktadır.
Bu sergileme modelini bildik anlamda klasik müze sunumlarından farklı kılan temel öğe, Borusan
Contemporary’nin farklı katlarında homojen güncel sanat yorumlarının gündeme gelmesidir. Yılda
iki kez düzenlenen “Segment” sergileri, müze koleksiyonundan seçkilerle farklı çalışmalar arasında
kurulabilecek birlikteliklere dair yorumlar getirir. Türkçeye de yerleşmiş olan “segment” sözcüğü
parça ile bütün arasındaki ilişkiyi tanımlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda “Segment” sergileri, Borusan
Contemporary bünyesindeki farklı yatay ve dikey ilişkileri Perili Köşk’ün mimarisinden kaynaklanan
özellikleri de gözeterek sunmayı amaçlar.
Borusan Çağdaş Sanat Koleksiyonu, ağırlıklı olarak 1990 sonrasına ait farklı tekniklerde
gerçekleştirilmiş çalışmalara yer veren homojen bir yapıya sahiptir. Donald Judd, François Morellet,
Sol LeWitt, Thomas Ruff, Keith Sonnier, Liam Gillick, Tatsuo Miyajima, Roman Signer gibi uluslararası
çağdaş sanatın önde gelen temsilcilerinin yanı sıra Çağdaş Türk Sanatı’nın farklı kuşakları da
(Kutluğ Ataman, Sarkis, Gülsün Karamustafa, Bülent Evren, Burak Arıkan, Cevdet Erek, Lale Delibaş,
Ergin Çavuşoğlu, Bengü Karaduman gibi) bu kurumsal koleksiyonda temsil edilmektedir. Robert
Mapplethorpe, Sebastião Salgado, Ahmet Ertuğ, Ola Kolehmainen, Edward Burtynsky, Lynn Davis ve
Thomas Ruff gibi sanatçıların temsil edildiği fotoğraf koleksiyonu da izleyiciye farklı bir perspektif
sunmaktadır.
2007 Şubat’ından itibaren Borusan Holding’in yönetim merkezi olarak kullanılmaya başlayan Perili
Köşk, Boğaziçi’nin en ilgi çeken sivil mimari yapılarından biridir. Hafta içinde aktif bir ofis, hafta
sonunda ise halka açık bir sergileme alanı olan Borusan Contemporary, çağdaş sanatla birlikte
yaşamanın ve üretmenin “sıra dışı” bir modeli olarak dikkati çeker.
A Selection from the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection
How to exhibit a collection growing with constant new acquisitions and works commissioned by artists
and pushing its boundaries further How to establish a dialog between the temporary exhibitions and the
existing works in a museum collection which aims to foster New Media Art and present it to the public The
selections titled “Segment” call upon works from the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection that serve as
means of offering an alternative model for these questions. What makes this exhibition model different from
those of traditional museums is that they present opportunities for homogenous readings on different floors
of Borusan Contemporary Held semi-annually, the “Segment” exhibitions offer the viewer an opportunity
to establish links between the selections from the collection and other works. In this manner, the “Segment”
exhibitions present different vertical and horizontal relationships within Borusan Contemporary in a way to
observe and reflect the characteristics of Perili Köşk’s architecture.
The Borusan Contemporary Art Collection has a homogenous structure, mostly comprising works produced
after 1990s with different techniques. The collection features works of eminent figures of international
contemporary art such as Donald Judd, François Morellet, Sol LeWitt, Thomas Ruff, Keith Sonnier, Liam
Gillick, Tatsuo Miyajima and Roman Signer as well as works of contemporary Turkish artists from different
generations such as Kutluğ Ataman, Sarkis, Gülsün Karamustafa, Bülent Evren, Burak Arıkan, Cevdet Erek,
Lale Delibaş, Ergin Çavuşoğlu and Bengü Karaduman. The photography section represented by seminal
artists like Robert Mapplethorpe, Sebastião Salgado, Ahmet Ertuğ, Ola Kolehmainen, Edward Burtynsky,
Lynn Davis and Thomas Ruff offer the viewer a different perspective.
Perili Köşk, the home of Borusan Contemporary, which came into operation as Borusan Holding’s
headquarters as of February 2007, is one of the most interesting and exquisite civic architecture along
the Bosphorus. The building is used as an office during the week and as a museum open to public in the
weekend and stands as a striking example of living with contemporary art.
