GENERAL POLICIES At-Will Employment Status This Handbook is not intended to create a contract of employment. Rather, it is simply intended to describe U.S. Xpress and its present policies and procedures. U.S. Xpress abides by employment at will, which permits U.S. Xpress or the employee to terminate the employment relationship at any time, for any reason. Nothing in this handbook, or in any document or statement, shall limit the Company’s right to terminate employment at-will. No manager, supervisor, or employee, other than an Executive Officer of the Company (and only in writing), has authority to enter into any agreement for employment for any specific period of time or to make any agreement for employment other than at-will. Communication Policy U.S. Xpress promotes a team atmosphere. All employees deserve your attention and respect. Courtesy and respect are the keys to good relationships. You are expected to maintain a courteous and professional tone, even in difficult situations. All mail, voice mail, E-mail, satellite messages and notes should be professional in accordance with U.S. Xpress’ policies. Foul language and cursing is not appropriate in the workplace and will not be tolerated. This includes E-mail and satellite messages.
