<strong>Scholarship</strong> Description: Beginning in May of their junior year and continuing through November of their senior year, any Illinois high<br />

school student who is interested in a teaching career is eligible for the Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program. Golden Apple Scholars<br />

receive tuition assistance of $2,500 per year for freshmen and sophomore years and $5,000 per year for junior and senior years.<br />

and $5,000 per year for junior and senior years, paid directly to the scholar’s undergraduate institution.<br />

<strong>Scholarship</strong> Description: The annual $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to juniors and seniors who have truly made significant<br />

contributions or exhibited unparalleled dedication in preserving, promoting, enhancing or supporting Illinois cultural resources.<br />

Additional Requirements: Must be nominated by a cultural resource constituency group, community leader, school administrator or<br />

teacher, or other adult mentor for volunteer efforts in support of the cultural resources of Illinois<br />

<strong>Scholarship</strong> Award Amount: Three scholarships, of $2,000.00 each<br />

<strong>Scholarship</strong> Qualifications: Senior in an Illinois high school during the year of the scholarship award Illinois resident<br />

• Able to provide specific examples of voluntary, effective contributions to Illinois’ natural resources<br />

throughout his/her high school enrollment<br />

• Enrolling in a two- or four-year college or university program of study in the calendar year of his/her high<br />

school graduation<br />

• In good standing at his/her high school and possess a 2.5 grade point average or better on a 4.0 scale (3.1<br />

GPA or better on a 5.0 scale)<br />

• A letter of support<br />

• Two additional letters of support<br />

• Media documentation of natural resources<br />

• Verification of scholastic achievement<br />

• A 500-word essay<br />

• Acceptance letter from a two- or four-year college or university and your student<br />
