May Scholarship Name: Latinos Progresando’s CBYG Scholarship Website: http://latinospro.org/ Application: http://latinospro.org/lp-dr-angela-perez-miller-scholarship-fund/ Scholarship Description: C-BYG promotes education and motivates our Latino youth to pursue a higher education with the vision of increasing the number of Latino students attend and graduate from college in our community. Awards are in the amounts of $2500, $1500, and $1000. Scholarship Award Amount: LP will award six scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each Renewable: No Scholarship Qualifications: Enrolled for at least 6 credit hours for the 2013-2014 academic year • Admitted or enrolled in an undergraduate degree-seeking program or certificate program at an accredited college or university • Demonstrated financial need • Be a Latino or immigrant student • Demonstrated commitment to community service • Reside in the Chicago Metropolitan Area Required Documentation: 1. Application Forms: complete and submit the Background Information Form, Financial Data Form, and the Certification Form 2. Transcript: submit an official transcript from the school you are currently enrolled 3. Resume: submit a one-page resume that includes work experience, academic accomplishments, leadership roles, community service, and other relevant activities 4. Letters of Recommendation: submit two letters of recommendation from people who know you well (e.g., high school teacher, counselor, employer, professor, academic advisor, coach); letters should be submitted on official letterhead. 5. Financial Aid: submit a copy of your 2013-14 financial aid award letter from your college’s financial aid office. 6. Tax Form(s): submit a copy of your 2012 federal tax form AND, if you are under 24 years of age, your parents’ 2012 federal tax form. 7. Essay: submit a three-page essay (double spaced, 12 point font, Times New Roman) that describes (1) your background and family background, (2) your personal and career goals, (3) your interest in your chosen major/field of study, (4) your community service. and/or involvement in extracurricular activities, and (5) how the scholarship will help you while pursuing your education and goals. 8. Deadline: The completed application must be postmarked by May 2013. The application is not considered complete until all required items are received. Scholarship Description: The N’DIGO Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private charity dedicated to rewarding excellence in education by awarding merit-based college scholarships to Chicago and surrounding suburban students in High School. OCA Chicago is proud to introduce the 2013 “Dream Big” scholarship program. A grand total of $30,000 will be awarded to 12 future Asian American community leaders.
