fund is looking good in heaven with Jesus where it belongs. Here on
earth my treasure is not. My years in missions were truly a joyful
experience that I would not trade for an IRA or a 401K.
Answer from Jack, who served in North Africa for five years.
A: Trust God to provide at retirement age.
John Wesley said, “Earn all you can, save all you can, give all
you can!” As missionaries, we can’t “earn all you can,” but we can
save and give. “Give, and it will be given to you” is a promise you
can bet your retirement on (Luke 6:38).
Answer from Tom, who has served for nineteen years in Philippines and
Slovakia with Campus Crusade for Christ.
Vision. Sacrifice.
Perseverance.
Ten miles south of Ensenada in Baja California, Highway 1
meanders through the slums of Maneadero, Mexico. It’s there
that Pastor Lorenzo has modeled for us all how to expect God’s
provision for ministry.
With no initial funding, he convinced an architect to draw
plans for his dream of a new church building. The vision of a beautiful
church in a rough slum was stunning.
The Mexican pastor began digging the foundation with his own
shovel, and soon his impoverished church members joined him.
Visitors, touring through the town on their way to south-Baja holidays,
noticed the work, caught the vision, and joined in the effort.
