• Counting the relational cost of mission service:
Most singles have concerns about going into
mission service unmarried. And most parents
have some fears for their children’s health and
education in another culture. Father God knows
your concerns and fears, and he will care for you
and for yours as you serve him.
As you explore your role in God’s mission story, remember
to utilize some of the invaluable resources for further study listed
at the end of this book. Discuss issues and questions with a leader
or friend in your local church. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you,
through God’s Word and through prayer. Invite God’s power to
overcome your fears and concerns. With complete confidence in
his power, move forward as he guides.
As you grow closer to the Lord of the harvest, never rely on
your own insight or understanding, but instead, “trust in the name
of the Lord and rely on [your] God” (Isaiah 50:10).
