Broadwoodwidger: hamlet with church in the wonderfully<br />
undamaged, little-visited and beautiful rolling<br />
farmland of far-west Devon, 4 miles from nearest main<br />
road. One mile away is Roadford Lake (see brochure, page 35). Lifton (village with famous fishermen’s<br />
hotel/pub, shops), 6 miles; Launceston, 9; the sea at Bude and Boscastle, about 20.<br />
... 2 miles north of Broadwoodwidger and one from Roadford Lake, an extremely well-converted coach house in the<br />
grounds of a lovely, old, small manor house. Well-kept lawns, suntrap solar heated swimming pool (34’ x 15’ x up to 6’<br />
deep), summer house with barbecue area, one acre lake down in the woods and 30 acres of<br />
farmland. All lovely – for wild birds and animals too. Inside, tasteful decoration and comfort; living/<br />
dining room (open fire); very well-equipped fitted kitchen (dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave,<br />
freezer, Rayburn plus electric cooker). Upstairs (stairgate), three bedrooms – a double, a twin,<br />
and one with two single beds; bathroom (suite plus separate shower); separate loo. Payphone. No<br />
smoking. Much recommended and appreciated. A very attractive and peaceful place.<br />

… 2 miles from St Kew and about 500 yards<br />
back from a pretty wooded part of the A39, a<br />
very private, spacious, single storey,<br />
detached barn, newly converted in 2005. It is<br />
surrounded by a fenced lawn/shrub garden and 3<br />
acres of woodland, with plenty of parking. There<br />
are lovely long west-facing wooded meadow<br />
views. Fifty yards along the lane in the Allen<br />
Valley (SSSI) are 100 acres of private<br />
woodland to walk and cycle. The River Allen<br />
flows through the woodland (tiddler fishing).<br />
Two steps up to the front door and hall; large,<br />
comfortable living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher,<br />
microwave, fridge-freezer) with French<br />
windows to patio (table/chairs), granite fireplace<br />

walks for the fit to Crackington<br />
Haven, Boscastle and<br />
Tintagel (7-10 miles south,<br />

bathroom (suite plus hand-shower) with washing<br />
machine and tumble drier. Stairs up to two more<br />
large bedrooms with fabulous views down the<br />
coast – one with a zip-linkable twin (6’ bed), and<br />
one with zip-linkable twin (6’ bed) plus a single bed,<br />
both with en suite bathrooms (suites plus hand-showers). Freezer in outhouse. No smoking.<br />
Suitable for partially disabled. The friendly owner has a small annexe at the back of the house<br />
and shares the very large driveway with you. Excellent house, much recommended.<br />
