Shaldon
Dittisham (see brochure, page 67):
... on the hillside overlooking Dittisham, a mid-terrace
cottage within 200 yards of pub, PO/stores and church, in
the grounds of Dittisham Court.
Prospect Cottage is ‘upside down’, double-glazed, converted from a Grade II listed shippon. A paved
mews (tubs and hanging baskets) divides it from next door barns. Good countryside views from the
upstairs rooms, shared 2 acre garden close by with a big, grassy play area, and fine views to the
River Dart. Steps up to a small balcony lead to the entrance. Inside, recently decorated, wellequipped.
Small hall, lobby (loo/washbasin) off which the large, light living/dining room with Welsh
dresser and French windows to small balcony (views over the village) - a good room. Off it, a fitted
kitchen with washer-drier, microwave, fridge-freezer. Downstairs to two bedrooms, both with
pine beds - a double and a small twin. Bathroom (suite plus hand-shower). No smoking.
Shaldon (see brochure, page 57):
… in Shaldon, a toes-in-the-water, three-storey house, right on the beach (but not shown in the photo above), beautifully
converted in 2005 from ancient warehouses and flanked by other properties. Much time and care has been taken to make this
a stylish, light, airy, extremely comfortable home. Terrific views at the back across the water to Teignmouth – a brilliant place
to watch the boats, fishing cormorants and majestic swans pass by. Front door from little lane to hall with tiled floor and loo
(washbasin); elegant living room with high ceiling, handsome fireplace (‘living flame’ fire), big windows and glazed doors to
balcony and those great views; high, wide archway through to smart fitted kitchen (dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave,
fridge-freezer) with refectory table/bench/chairs and ceramic tiled floor. From hall, stairs up to first
floor and three bedrooms – a double (5’ bed) with en suite bathroom (suite with jacuzzi bath), and
two twin rooms, both en suite to same shower-room (suite); sauna room; more stairs up to second
floor and a double bedroom (5’ bed) with en suite bathroom (suite plus hand-shower) and small balcony
with lovely views of the beach, the Ness and brilliant sunsets. No smoking. This is an
exceptional house. Cautionary Deposit £100. There is a carport with access from a narrow lane
(good manoeuvring skills required!). Extra car parking in village car park, 1 ⁄2 mile.
