Running as a Service<br />
In the Windows environment, service processes are started automatically when<br />
the PC is started, so that it is not necessary for a user to logon to the <strong>com</strong>puter<br />
to run a service program. The <strong>Now</strong> <strong>SMS</strong>/<strong>MMS</strong> gateway operates as a Windows<br />
service.<br />
When you are configuring the gateway, and select “Ok” to close the<br />
configuration dialog, the gateway checks to see if the service process is active.<br />
If the service process is not active, the following dialog is displayed:<br />
Select “Yes” to install and activate the service, or “No” to exit without<br />
activating the service.<br />
The “Service” tab in the configuration dialog can also be utilized to install or<br />
remove the gateway services.<br />
