• IAM alumni are also working with
leading brands like GUCCI, ARMANI,
ITC, Tommy Hilfiger, Reliance Brands,
Arvind Brands, JJ Valaya, Tarun Tahillani,
Adidas, Benetton, Li & Fund, Paul Smith
and several of others.
• IAM Students have stood up for a social
cause : Safety and Dignity for Women :
Students draped up in trendy look and
feel travelled in metro train to reach their
campus.
• IAM students presented Trend
Forecasting for Indian Apparel Industry :
IAM students Fashion Forecast for spring
/ summer 13 for Indian retail Market
at National Garment Fair organized by
CMAI, Mumbai.
• Innovative Denim Garment and
Accessories Designed by IAM students
at Indigo 2014 : IAM students presented
a collection of ‘Men’s, Women’s and
Kids Wear’ apparel coordinated with
accessories crafted in Denim.
Major Institutional Initiatives
• On 25th April 2014 IAM launched MBA
Programme in Fashion Business with
specialisation in “Design Management,
Fashion Marketing & Innovation &
Entrepreneurship”
• IAM linked MOU with FDI, Mauritius
: IAM signed an MOU with Fashion &
Design Institute, Mauritius. IAM will
conduct in August 2014 a “Tailor Made”
program in “Pattern Engineering” to
begin with at FDI.
The UG/PG Programs at IAM have been
re-designed to provide a more “Global
knowledge and skills & knowledge package”
through different academic tracks. As per
the direction of the BOG and the Academic
Vision Committee IAM has refocused
on “Business of Fashion, Innovation and
Entrepreneurship” as the core tenets in
all its UG/PG Academic programs. Under
the umbrella of under graduate programs,
IAM offers a variety of subjects targeted to
the specific needs of the fashion / apparel
industry. IAM has launched this year, “MBA
in Fashion Business”, one of its own kind in
India.
“Pro-Up Center” at IAM offers very
unique and value added programs for
working executives and professionals who
wish to continue their learning to excel in
various fields. IAM have also made significant
contribution to the NSQF of AICTE for
Apparel Sector which was released by Union
Minister of Textiles in the presence of Dr.
S S Mantha, Chairman AICTE last year.
IAM – LEC approved by the DGET/NCVT
under the aegis of Ministry of Labour &
Employment has assessed so far more than
10,000 candidates in apparel related skill
programmes across the country.
The new partnerships in progress include
progression arrangements with Birmingham
Institute of Art & Design (BIAD), London
College of Fashion (LCF), IFM Paris etc
besides strengthening existing collaborations
with Edexcel, UK and SMR University, Italy.
With St. Cathrine’s University. IAM plans
to kick off a ‘guided study tour’ for their
students from January 2016. Recent visit
of DG&CEO / Director of IAM have helped
to concretise a number of initiatives for the
next 2-3 years telescoping IAM to its next
level of growth.
The contribution of IAM’s Media Design
Cell towards rendering designs and other
services to AEPC, ATDC & IAM require
special mention as it has now become a “one
stop solution” to Design and Media needs.
Some of the research based publications
and presentations made by IAM faculty last
year viz… Adjunct Prof. Neera Chandra,
Asstt. Professor Guncha K. Sharma,
Associate Professor Archana Puri deserve
special mention. The research work and
publications of the faculty will be integral to
the growth story of IAM.
