PINSENT MASONS WATER SECTOR GROUP<br />

• advising a bidder on its bid for Project Aquatrine, the UK Ministry of Defence project to<br />

outsource its water and wastewater functions under the Private Finance Initiative;<br />

• advising on a major industrial water outsourcing project in the UK;<br />

• advising a UK Utility Group, part of the preferred bidder consortium, on the Engineering<br />

Procurement Construction contract issues (Package 1), in connection with the design, build<br />

and operation of a water treatment plant in Beijing. Beijing No. 10 is the fourth formal BOT<br />

project in China;<br />

• advising a member of a bidding consortium in connection with the Disi-Amman water<br />

conveyor BOT project in Jordan;<br />

• advising part of a consortium bidding for the Dublin Bay Ringsend Treatment Works<br />

wastewater project in Dublin;<br />

• acting for the Government of Sri Lanka on the Greater Negombo <strong>Water</strong> PSP project;<br />

• advising the South African Department of <strong>Water</strong> Affairs and Forestry on the form of model<br />

contracts to regulate water services for the benefit of South African municipalities;<br />

• acting for the preferred bidder in connection with the Levenmouth Wastewater Treatment<br />

project in Scotland. This is a bond financed project procured under the UK Government’s<br />

Private Finance Initiative;<br />

• advising administrators to a mineral water company on the transfer of abstraction licenses;<br />

• advising OFWAT on an appeal to the Competition Appeal Tribunal by Aqua Resources<br />

Limited;<br />

• advising PAI Partners on the UK aspects of their EUR1.7billion disposal of water company<br />

SAUR to a consortium led by Caisse des Depots.<br />
