| Colleen Hague Canada
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Colleen Hague was raised in
a family that practiced holistic healthcare, then known as the
“home-remedy”. Essential oils and herbal remedies were a
way of life. Using lavender to heal a cut or burn was simply
a matter of course. It was much later in life that her curiosity
as to how an essential oil such as lavender could heal led
to her research and studies of the botanical world. Essential
oils became her main focus and the quest to understand the
incredible potential that Mother Nature had to offer became
a new adventure and her life’s passion. Colleen continues to
study at Healing Fragrances School of Aromatic Sciences.
Awaken My Senses, a Toronto-based aroma-spa business,
is owned and operated by Colleen Hague and Michael
Green. The heart of the company revolves around natural
products using pure essential oils imported from around the
globe. Their commitment is to provide the highest quality of
therapeutic and cosmetic essential oils for both home and
commercial use.
SUNDAY 3:30 p.m. Room 203-B
• Essential Oils – The Science of Aromatics
As old as civilization itself, essential oils have been used in
medicine, perfumery and cosmetology. Hippocrates, referred
to as the father of modern medicine, stated in 460BC that
“The way to health is to have an aromatic bath and scented
massage every day”. In Roman as well as Greek bath
houses, aromatic oils were extensively used, as prescribed by
Hippocrates. Aromatics or essential oils are ideally suited to
the day spa. This seminar will look at the ways it can create
a peaceful healing environment in an otherwise fast-paced,
stressful lifestyle of people today. The key word today is
balance and no other therapy can offer the unique balance of
body, mind and soul in one little bottle.
MONDAY 2:30 p.m. Room 203-B
•
of using therapeutic grade essential oils; how to determine if
and contraindications of carrier and essential oils; increasing
