presents a series of three educational conferences aimed at motivating professional<br />
estheticians to bind together and form a strong body to upgrade and maintain<br />
the educational status of their profession in Canada.<br />
Established in 2000, the Society is a non-profit organization run by volunteers who are dedicated and passionate<br />
about the welfare of the esthetic profession. One of its primary objectives is to achieve self-regulation<br />
of the esthetic profession. The Society, which also represents the CIDESCO section in Canada, invites all ESI<br />
visitors to attend these educational seminars at no additional charge.<br />

• How the Canadian Medical Device Regulations Impact the Esthetic Profession<br />
This topic should be of strong interest to all skin care professionals who may be affected by new<br />
regulations that may control or limit the use of different devices by the esthetic professional.<br />
What can we do to protect ourselves and simultaneously maintain our integrity as highly trained<br />
skin care professionals?<br />
This sensitive topic will be discussed by Paula Marsden, a regulatory consultant with 30 years<br />
experience in health care. Since 1998, Ms. Marsden has worked exclusively consulting with the<br />
medical device industry in the licensing and sale of products in Canada. A graduate of Michener<br />
Institute of Allied Health Science, she holds a M.A. degree in Health Policy, Management and<br />
Evaluation, University of <strong>Toronto</strong>.<br />
