• Ayurveda
Ayurvedic medicine (Indian herbo-mineral system) is the most
ancient system of medicine. In Sanskrit language “ayu” means
life and “veda” means knowledge or science. So to the whole
word “AYU:VEDA” means the Science or Knowledge of Life. This
includes a comprehensive and complete natural herbo-mineral
health care system. Ayurveda combines holistic assessment and
diagnosis with diet, exercise and herbo-mineral medication.
Ayurveda is a system about living right and eating right. It
is concerned with achieving balance in body and mind by
restoring the balance of three elements or factors: Vata, Pitta
and Kapha (air, fire and water) of which the body is made.
Lightness is considered a state of normalcy. The unique
principle in Ayurveda is this: Each and every person has
his/her own individual body constitution according to these
three elements. By following certain principles of Ayurveda,
body-mind-soul can have inner beauty and develop the right
approach to outer beauty.
and toxins. For those not strong enough for Shodan, there is
a group of milder techniques called Shaman. Dr. Rakesh
Modi will present the main therapies in PanchaKarma, which
medicated oils; Medicated Steam Bath; ShiroDhara (flowing
• Shine, Shine and More Shine
We are in the midst of a gold rush, one that contradicts the
past 10 years of matte, matte, matte. We were told then that
matte was the desired effect! But, the matte trend came,
like most trends, with its downfalls. Now, all we hear about
is sparkle, shimmer and shine. When is matte desirable and
where is shine the awesome, youth-providing tool? This is
what this seminar is about.
SUNDAY 1:30 p.m. Room 205-B
Sterling Silver and Solid Gold
Remember Goldfinger, the movie, and the awesome blonde
that ended up dead on the couch... ouch! How does one
create, on the skin, a solid gold look? Gold alone will not do
it. What about solid silver? Silver dust or silver paint alone
will only end up looking like the family silverware you take
out on special occasions... tarnished. How to achieve a solid
gold effect and a sterling silver look on the skin is what this
seminar is about.
