regarded as the best form of skin care development. He will
also explain “Bio mimetic” and “Bionics” methods of development,
as well as define what is “biological” and its importance
and usage in skin care development today. Product
efficacy, safety issues and pros and cons of natural cosmetics
will also be discussed.

How will the market deal with consumers’ desire for quick
acting products and how are companies accelerating their
response to this demand? How will companies ensure product
efficacy (ordinary questions versus scientifically proved
claims)? Dr. Prade will also discuss the increasing role of
photo-aging and not just preventing sunburns as well as the
function of uVA radiation in photo-aging. Sun protection, a
current hot topic, will be discussed, as will integrating rejuvenation
as a holistic approach. Ways of ensuring optimal skin
compatibility and ways of effectively treating sensitive skins
will also be topics of discussion.

Paula Hogan studied and trained in England, becoming a certified
skin and body therapist and holds additional certificates
in reflexology and aromatherapy. She has taken her skills
and experience all over the world in various capacities, settling
in Canada several years ago. In 1999, Hogan joined The
International Dermal Institute, teaching advanced skin and
body techniques to post graduate students coast to coast. In
her current role as a Senior Instructor, Hogan oversees the
training and development of new IDI staff at the Vancouver
post graduate school, teaches students who wish to upgrade
their skin care skills and continues to lecture throughout the
country on behalf of the International Dermal Institute.

five years during which she has travelled extensively both

celebrity facials with MD Skincare. April was introduced to
the world of esthetics after she earned her Bachelor’s degree
from the university of Texas. Following her passion, she
received a diploma in esthetics, completed advanced training
and has been dedicated to teaching skincare.
