• TAXATION - Consulted with the Department<br />
of Finance Canada, again appeared before<br />
the House of Commons Standing Committee<br />
on Finance (FINA) where they called on the<br />
federal government to reduce the complexity<br />
of the taxation system and its compliance<br />
requirements in future budget proposals,<br />
submitted annual pre-budget submission<br />
and budget comment.<br />
• TREASURY AND CAPITAL MARKETS –<br />
Gave their expertise for the CFERF “Credit<br />
availability in Canada: 2010” report, continued<br />
to support the implementation of a single<br />
Canadian security regulator and studied<br />
environmental accounting, macro-economic<br />
policy and treasury issues.<br />
CFERF<br />
CFERF, the Canadian Financial Executives<br />
Research Foundation, is the research arm<br />
of <strong>FEI</strong> Canada. CFERF was formed to create<br />
Canadian – specific research, to aid in the<br />
daily working lives of <strong>FEI</strong> Canada’s members.<br />
CFERF studies are a resource of best practices<br />
and lessons learned from our esteemed<br />
members and experts, to share with their<br />
colleagues and organizations.<br />
The CFERF board is made up of <strong>FEI</strong> Canada<br />
members who are dedicated to our pursuit<br />
of research. These board members use their<br />
expertise and experience to help steer our<br />
projects in the right direction, and ensure<br />
