MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE &<br />
THE CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS<br />
<strong>FEI</strong> Canada members are inherently at the top of their game, career-wise. Just to qualify for<br />
membership, executives in our organization must already be seasoned veterans who have been<br />
successful in their chosen careers.<br />
But even established veterans need to renew and transform themselves professionally on an<br />
ongoing basis, for instance by connecting with like-minded peers and gleaning valuable insights<br />
through professional development.<br />
<strong>FEI</strong> Canada is always looking for ways to grow and improve our services, as our members do in<br />
organizations where they work. One way to accomplish this is to ask members what we’re doing<br />
well, and whether we can do it even better.<br />
We seek input in different ways – for instance, we canvass you, our members, through membership<br />
surveys and we harness the expertise of our technical committees to learn where you stand on<br />
current issues. Your valuable feedback makes this organization better than ever.<br />
We learned more about what our members think this year during the production of <strong>FEI</strong> Canada’s<br />
first video, designed to educate current and prospective members alike about our association.<br />
We interviewed active members of <strong>FEI</strong> Canada to find out how and why they joined, and what<br />
they enjoyed the most about the organization. Several common themes emerged:<br />
• MEMBERS LIKE TO NETWORK: <strong>FEI</strong> Canada networking is more than a mere exchange of<br />
business cards. While there is always the possibility of making a connection with someone<br />
at a company you’d like to do business with in the future, it is also about exchanging ideas<br />
