Chance for adults to
get creative at gallery
ADULTS of all ages can sign up for a range of
creative classes to be held at the Chapel
Gallery this autumn.
The courses at the council–run gallery in
Ormskirk will provide a series of enjoyable
classes all facilitated by professional artists,
which cater for people of all abilities.
It doesn’t matter if you are a complete
beginner or have been drawing, writing or
knitting for years, there will be something
for you to give yourself a challenge with over
the autumn and winter months.
Councillor David Sudworth, West Lancs
Council’s portfolio holder for leisure, said:
“The adult learning classes are a great way
to meet new people and learn or improve
your skills. I would encourage people to join
in the fun and sign up for the classes.”
Resurgence
Creative Textiles is the new name of the
knit and natter group, a better description
of what the classes entail.
This meets once a month on Tuesday
mornings between 10am and midday.
Forthcoming dates for the group are
October 29, November 26 and December 17.

Patchwork and Quilting is a new course
starting Tuesday, October 8. This craft has
enjoyed resurgence in popularity, partly
due to the ‘new’ make–do–and–mend
movement.
Over the first few weeks participants will
be making small experimental items and a
lap quilt.
Sessions start on October 8 and continue
on Tuesday, November 5 and Tuesday,
December 3.
The gallery’s adult drawing classes take
place between 7 and 9pm once a month on a
Friday. Group sessions coming up are
October 11, November 8 and December 6.
And creative writing classes are on
Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9pm. Classes
over the coming months are on October 9
and 30; November 6 and 27; and December
11.
