Military vehicles roll back<br />

THE Heaton’s Bridge military<br />
vehicle event will be roaring back<br />
this weekend.<br />
The fourth event, at the Heaton’s<br />
Bridge Inn, Scarisbrick on Saturday<br />
and Sunday, October 5 and 6, will<br />
feature a range of second world war<br />
vehicles including a Howitzer, a<br />
Mighty Antar tank transporter<br />
complete with Abbot tank, a<br />
Saracen armoured vehicle, a<br />
25–pounder field gun with Quad<br />
truck and limber (ammo carrier),<br />
an armoured personnel carrier,<br />
Jeeps and Land Rovers.<br />
The Military Vehicle Trust Event is<br />
hosted by the Heatons Bridge<br />
proprietor, Steve Winrow and runs<br />
alongside an Ale Trail event<br />
organised by the Merseyside<br />
Transport Trust, which runs vintage<br />
buses between local pubs and has a<br />
drop–off at the Heatons Bridge.<br />
