The <strong>Black</strong> <strong>Country</strong> UTC is committed to<br />
the principle that every child has<br />
individual needs. Students have an<br />
entitlement to access the full<br />
curriculum offer and be fully included in<br />
all aspects of life at the <strong>Black</strong> <strong>Country</strong><br />
UTC, irrespective of ability, race, gender,<br />
or need and should be respected and<br />
valued as individuals.<br />
The <strong>Black</strong> <strong>Country</strong> UTC will address the<br />
needs of different groups of students and<br />
deliver high quality learning and teaching<br />
practices which will allow every student to<br />
achieve their potential. Where required<br />
the <strong>Black</strong> <strong>Country</strong> UTC will adapt the<br />
environment and equipment, as much as<br />
is practicably possible, as well as seeking<br />
specialist advice from outside the<br />
organisation to enhance its ability to<br />
support all students.<br />
The <strong>Black</strong> <strong>Country</strong> UTC will seek to<br />
remove all barriers to learning and<br />

Bursaries<br />
A 16-19 means tested bursary is<br />
available to support costs. An<br />
application form is available upon<br />
admission to the <strong>Black</strong> <strong>Country</strong> UTC.<br />

The <strong>Black</strong> <strong>Country</strong> UTC wishes to<br />

Students are expected to maintain<br />
the same professional manner<br />
and appearance they would adopt<br />
in industry. The uniform is supplied in the<br />
first instance for year 10 students.<br />
Our dress code has been designed<br />
to help create a modern and successful<br />
business environment.<br />
Year 10/11<br />
• UTC striped tie (boys only)<br />
• Charcoal grey tailored suit<br />
• Choice of charcoal grey trousers or<br />
skirt (girls only)<br />
• UTC and Siemens lapel badge<br />
• White shirt - suitable for use with tie<br />
(boys only)<br />
• White shaped blouse (girls only)<br />
• Plain black footwear<br />
• Plain socks (not brightly coloured)<br />
• <strong>Black</strong> shower proof coat<br />
In addition for workshop activities<br />
students will wear:<br />
• Overalls<br />
• Safety boots<br />
• Safety goggles<br />

Year 12/13<br />
• Dark coloured two or three piece<br />
business suits (trouser, skirt, dress)<br />

supplied to Year 12, replacements<br />
available for purchase from the UTC<br />
• Dark coloured belt (optional)<br />
• Dark plain v neck jumper<br />

• Outerwear - plain dark coat or jacket<br />
• Bags - dark coloured and appropriately<br />
sized for carrying books, folders, kit<br />
and other items<br />

• Trainers of any colour<br />
• Canvas shoes<br />
• Tracksuits tops<br />
• Hooded tops<br />
• Hats, scarves or gloves once inside the<br />

Physical<br />
Education<br />
For PE, students will wear:<br />
• Navy/Cyan PE shirt supplied by Price<br />
and Buckland<br />
• Navy/Cyan shorts/skirt supplied by<br />
Price and Buckland<br />
• Cyan socks supplied by Price and<br />
Buckland<br />
• Blue or black tracksuit bottoms (blue<br />
available for purchase from Price and<br />
Buckland)<br />
• Navy sweatshirt with UTC logo available<br />
for purchase from Price and Buckland<br />
• Suitable trainers for indoor or astro use<br />
(no metal studs or blades)<br />
• Football boots/training shoes<br />
• Shin pads and gum shields must be<br />
worn for hockey<br />
Health &<br />
Safety<br />
To comply with health and safety<br />
regulations and our business standards<br />
students will not be able to wear:<br />
• Make-up or nail polish<br />
• Visible body piercings<br />
• Jewellery - no more than wrist watch,<br />
one plain ring, one pair of small ear<br />
studs (not rings - one in each lobe)<br />
• Fashion belts - belts should be plain<br />
black worn through belt loops (large<br />
buckles are not acceptable)<br />
