We’re Moving!
Welcome to the Black Country
University Technical College (BCUTC)
– the first of its kind and a place
where students can explore and
develop their interest in science
and engineering and build a
brighter future.
There has never been a better time to
study towards a career in the
engineering industry as we are set to
move to a new multi-million pound
campus in central Walsall; transforming
engineering in the Black Country!
The new state-of-the-art campus will be
relocated next to Ofsted outstanding
Walsall College, which will increase
opportunities for collaboration and
benefit student learning.
Being part of the wider Walsall
Learning Quarter will also give students
access to the £11m Business and
Sports Hub and £300,000 Engineering
and Manufacturing Workshop.
The BCUTC has a strong legacy of
delivery and our move to a central
Walsall location will improve access for
students from across the Black
Country and further boost the
region’s capability to meet the skills
gap in engineering.
The BCUTC will continue to operate as
normal until the move, when students
will transfer to the new campus from
April 2016.
I am thrilled to be the new Principal
of the Black Country UTC and look
forward to putting all of my energy
into securing the highest outcomes
for our students.
In meeting current students, staff and
parents, there is a clear sense of
pride in the school and a
determination to succeed.
The successful partnerships already
established at the UTC, such as that
with Siemens UK, will give our
students a cutting edge in the
workplace and certainly attracted me
to the role.
I started my teaching career in
Walsall, working in the town for nearly
10 years, and I am delighted to be
back to build upon the progress which
has already been made to bring
science and engineering back to the
forefront in the Black Country.
It’s an exciting time for the Black
Country UTC and I look forward to
welcoming you on board.
