The opportunities BCUTC
offered me and the fact I
can go on to do the advanced
diploma was a big part of
the reason I decided to
come here.
The way the college is run is far more
like a business than a school, which
encourages students like me and helps
them to learn more effectively.
My course is completely focused on
engineering which means it will be a
lot easier to get into the industry as I
will have the skills employers want I
felt taking an Apprenticeship was a
better route for me to follow because it
seems to fit with my abilities better
than university.
I study one day a week at the college
and love the machine work and
machinery programming, some of which
can be very complicated but it has set
me up perfectly for my Apprenticeship
which I do the other four days of the
week. It actually feels like I am already in
the world of work!
I would definitely encourage others to
study at the BCUTC and personally I
hope to go into lean management
which is all about saving businesses
money and looking at how efficiencies
can be made.
