“I’m now studying an Advanced Engineering Diploma
alongside A-levels and plan to pursue a career in
animal prosthetics or as a zoologist.”
When I first heard about the
BCUTC I was in Year 9 and
although I didn’t know much
about Engineering, I really
enjoyed Science.
When I came to an Open Day I felt really
inspired and knew the chance to work
with so many employers would be a
great opportunity.
BCUTC is not like other schools as
the teachers go into the subjects in
more detail and you do a lot more
practical experiments working with
different machines.
This really helps you to understand how
the teachings apply to the real world and
think about the types of career you
could go in to.
The classes are also smaller than in
school so you get more one to one
support. Because of this I did better in
my GCSEs than I thought I would and got
an A and B in subjects I’d studied for the
first time in Year 10.
I’m now studying an Advanced
Engineering Diploma alongside A-levels
and plan to pursue a career in animal
