You have a big job ahead of you; to help, here are some resources:<br />

SCHEDULE CONSISTENT PRESENTATIONS<br />

Schedule large group presentations to occur on the same day each month (e.g., first<br />

Wednesday). Be strategic when choosing your day of the week for the year. Think about<br />

chapter meetings, Interfraternity Council meetings, other campus programs, etc.<br />

HOLD A MONTHLY MEETING<br />

While the Phi Phase is primarily a self-directed experience, you are expected to hold a<br />

monthly meeting regularly. It doesn’t have to be long, simply serving as a formal transition<br />

between themes--finalizing the concluding theme as you introduce the Large Group<br />

Presentation.<br />

A sample calendar has been provided that would allow you and future Alumni Directors to<br />

stay on track and offer large group presentations for each of the six themes in a pattern that<br />

complements the academic year. You should ideally schedule one large group presentation<br />

per month and encourage members to complete individual activities on their own, then<br />

hold a monthly round-table meeting to gather Individual Activity completion from brothers.<br />

Recommended topics for Large Group Presentations, as well as some potential ideas for<br />

individual activies, have been provided for each theme.<br />

• Attend a Chapter Council meeting<br />

• Give to your chapter’s endownment<br />

• Call Fraternity Staff and ask about volunteer opportunities<br />

• Sit down one-on-one with a long time volunteer from your<br />

chapter and disucss why he gives back<br />

• Join your college’s alumni association<br />

• Sit down one-on-one with a member of your university’s career<br />

services office staff and discuss professional transitions<br />

• Attend a career services/networking fair<br />

• Connect with the Alpha Sigma Phi network on LinkedIn<br />

• Read Social Excellence<br />

• Reflect and journal on self-sufficiency, especially in regards to<br />

the responsiblity of caring for oneself and others<br />

• Make a list of powerful experiences you’ve had with mentors in<br />

your life, and one where you have mentored others<br />

• Open a savings account at a local bank<br />

• Create an account on mint.com to better track your finances<br />

• Meet with a Financial Planner<br />
