XXII. Dark Night – Bonding Experience — 90 Minutes<br />
New Members spend time discussing things about themselves, their concerns,<br />
excitements, and fears. This is an opportunity for the New Members to deepen their<br />
bond and strengthen their trust.<br />
This activity is designed to be a free-flowing conversation–a sharing of thoughts, beliefs,<br />
dreams, and fears. When appropriate, bring the focus of the discussion back to our<br />
values.<br />
Dim the lights (not dark) to set a comfortable and reflective atmosphere. Below are some<br />
questions that can be used to get the conversation started. Spend up to one hour on<br />
this, sharing:<br />
• What is the thing you like most about a person?<br />
• What leisure time activity pleases you the most?<br />
• What do you want to be doing ten years from now?<br />
• What event this semester stands out most in your mind?<br />
• On what basis do you select your friends?<br />
• When you think of reality, what comes to your mind first?<br />
• What is the most sacred thing you know?<br />
• What is the most overwhelming thing you know? That makes you feel the most humble?<br />
• What is the greatest value that guides your life?<br />
• What is the greatest crime one man can do toward another?<br />
• For what do you think you would lay down your life?<br />
• What sound would you put on a CD for beauty?<br />
• What emotion is strongest in you?<br />
• Select a word that best describes your total life at this moment of time.<br />
• What single trait should qualify a man for initiation into Alpha Sigma Phi?<br />
• What one thing can you contribute to Alpha Sigma Phi?<br />
• What do you think people like about you the least?<br />
• What do you think people like about you the most?<br />
