• In <strong>the</strong> Bulgarian national television <strong>the</strong>re is a special daily broadcast for<br />
hearing-impaired persons – <strong>the</strong> speaker, using sign language, shares news<br />
about life in our Union and also news concerning hearing impaired<br />
persons. In addition, one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> daily broadcast programmes on BNT has<br />
interpreting in sign language<br />
• Besides <strong>the</strong> Bulgarian national television, some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> local television<br />
stations transmit news from <strong>the</strong> social section <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> UDB and also<br />
broadcast programmes with interpreting in sign language<br />
• For some significant events, <strong>the</strong> UDB gives press conferences and makes<br />
every possible effort through <strong>the</strong> press and <strong>the</strong> audio-visual<br />
transmittances in order to raise awareness about <strong>the</strong> life <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Deaf</strong> in<br />
<strong>the</strong> UDB for <strong>the</strong> information <strong>of</strong> general society<br />
• Daily, except for Sunday "News" on two national channels in two<br />
languages (Russian and Kazakh) with sign language interpreters for 30<br />
minutes on each channel<br />
• Extended news with subtitles (running line)<br />
