Please note: The Regional Working Group believes that every country member <strong>of</strong> WFD EEMARS may not have <strong>the</strong> correct<br />
interpretation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> definition <strong>of</strong> Bilingual Education, which may have led to some inaccurate ‘Yes’ answers. One member <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> Regional Working Group believes only one classroom in <strong>the</strong> Russian <strong>Federation</strong> <strong>of</strong>fers Bilingual Education for <strong>Deaf</strong> children<br />
in both Russian Sign Language and written Russian.<br />

Please note: The Regional Working Group expressed concern that <strong>the</strong> Republic <strong>of</strong> Kazakhstan may have misunderstood <strong>the</strong><br />
actual definition <strong>of</strong> Bilingual Education, based on <strong>the</strong>ir response that every educational settings <strong>of</strong>fered for <strong>Deaf</strong> children or<br />
students in <strong>the</strong>ir country is bilingual.<br />
The Project is under <strong>the</strong> auspices <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Swedish National Association <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Deaf</strong> (SDR) and <strong>the</strong> <strong>World</strong> <strong>Federation</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Deaf</strong> (WFD) <strong>Page</strong> <strong>No</strong> 57<br />
and funded by <strong>the</strong> Swedish Agency for International Development Cooperation (Sida) and Swedish Organisations <strong>of</strong> Disabled Persons<br />
International Aid Association (Shia).
