Products Validation Report, 30 May 2010 - PVR-03 (Product PR-OBS-3) Page 44 Mean error was negative all over the studied period with a total average of -0.33 (-1.81, -18.1) for 2009 for the low (mid, high) precipitation class. RMSE % was not as seasonal as the other scores but exhibited two distinguished maxima (least negative) in the low and mid precipitation classes in May and October 2009. The average RMSE % for 2009 for the low (mid, high) precipitation class was 178 % (105 %, 95 %). The probability of detection (POD) ranged from 0.02 to 0.32 with an average of 0.18 for 2009. False alarm rate ranged from 0.61 to 0.81 with an average of 0.71 resulting in a low CSI of 0.12 in 2009 with an absolute minimum of 0.02 in March 2009.
