As concerns products, WP-1320 will:
• establish formats, coding, protocol, etc. in such a mode that:
- EUMETSAT members and cooperating States can receive the products without the need for
substantial local development;
- the products or part of them, depending on the EUMETSAT data policy, can be made available
on the Global Telecommunication System (GTS);
- the data structure is possibly the same for all communication modes (dedicated lines, via U-
MARF, via EUMETCast).
WP-1320 will be carried out in close cooperation with the Project Team.
WP-1330: Engineering documentation
The H-SAF contract with EUMETSAT implies that a number of engineering documents are presented at
the Review meetings (see Tables 8 and 9), in addition to the programmatic/scientific documents to be
provided under WP-1140. The list (each document to imply several issues for different Reviews) is:
• Configuration Management Plan (CMP)
• System Requirements Document (SRD)
• Component Requirement Document (CRD)
• Component Design Document (CDD)
• Component Verification File (CVERF)
• Interface Control Document (ICD)
• System Design Document (SDD)
• Products Prototyping Reports (PPR)
• System IV & V Plan (SIVVP)
• System/Software Version Description (SSVD)
• System Verification File (SVERF)
• System Validation File (SVALF)
• Data Output Format (DOF).
These documents come downstream of the programmatic/scientific documents produced under WP-
1140, especially the URD. The Head Engineer submits draft documents or document frames to the H-
SAF Participants, collects the contributions and performs editing of the documents to be delivered to the
Review meetings. For those documents, he coordinates, appealing to authors of the contributions if
necessary, the management of the Review Item Discrepancy (RID) associated to Review meetings.
WP-1340: Control functions and Support to Project Team
The purpose of WP-1340 is to support the Project Manager for ensuring configuration control, schedule
control and documentation control.
WP-1340 provides the Project Manager with industrial support for:
• compilation and maintenance of the Configuration Management Plan;
• configuration management control, that is:
- configuration item identification in the general H-SAF architecture and its components, defined
and developed under WP-1310, among which algorithms, models, processing chains, archives,
telecommunication means (after availability of their description);
- definition of procedures and guidelines for configuration control of software development, like
adopted programming languages, coding, standards, protocol, etc. as stated under WP-1320;
- assessment and supervision of the Configuration Management Control Function delegated to
each Cluster leader;
• schedule control of the activities envisaged under this Project Plan, locked to the project milestones;
• configuration control of all deliverable documents listed under WP-1330 and possible others of
special impact or prone to provoke updating of one or more official documents.
