NIN’s Multifaceted Services and Monthly Activities
O.P.D. Clinic: NIN has an OPD clinic with free consultation
services where various Naturopathy treatments are
given to the patients at a subsidized rate i.e. Rs.350/-
per week. Naturopathy treatment has become popular
in Pune and NIN’s OPD is attracting large number of
patients. Total 4185 patients were treated during the
month of November.
Yoga Classes : NIN conducts 8 batches of yoga daily.
Four classes in the morning including one batch at 9 am
exclusively for women, and four in the evening. 143
participants attended the Yoga Classes this month.
Magazine: NIN publishes a bilingual magazine in Hindi
& English “Nisargopachar Varta”. 33 subscribers were
added during November.
Health Shop : A Health Shop is run by NIN where Natural
food & drinks and products free from chemicals and
fertilizers are made available to the public. Also, books
on Naturopathy, Yoga & other Health subjects and
various instruments used in the treatment of
Naturopathy are sold at subsidized rates.
Weekly Lectures : NIN arranged 4 free guest lectures by
eminent speakers on Saturdays on “Procedures and
Benefits” of Naturopathy treatment in different common
ailments.
Monthly Workshop: NIN organizes one-day workshop
with demonstration of procedures on different diseases
for general public on the last Saturday of every month.
This month NIN conducted the workshop on
“Management of Digestive Disorders through Naturopathy &
Yoga” on 24 th Nov. 2012. Total participants were 63. Copies
of NIN’s magazine ‘Nisargopachar Varta’ and treatment
equipment “Enema Can” to the needy are also
distributed to the participants.
Sanatorium for HIV+ve Patients: NIN is running a
Sanatorium for HIV +ve Patients at ‘NIVANT’, Panchagani,
Mahabaleshwar.
Naturopathy Diet Centre: NIN is running a Naturopathy
Diet Centre in its premises and providing diet facilities
to the general public and patients who visit this institute.
TATC Course : Forty Three Students are undergoing 1
year Full Time Treatment Attendant Training Course
(TATC) with a monthly stipend of Rs.3,000/-.
House Surgeoncy : 5 BNYS internees of different colleges
are undergoing training under Naturopathy & Yoga
Internship Training Programme with a monthly Stipend
of Rs.3500/-.
Acupressure Clinic : Free Acupressure Treatment is
being given to the patients, daily between 2 to 5 p.m.,
six days a week. Total 92 patients are benefited during
the month of November.
Special Events
(Nov. 15 th to Dec 15 th )
Nov 16 th : Director, NIN, Pune attended the meeting of
the Task Force for identifying Institutes of National
Importance and Centre of Excellence in AYUSH, at Delhi.
Nov 24 th : NIN conducted a One day workshop on
‘Maintenance of Health through Naturopathy’ organized by
Indian Institute of Cost and Management Studies and
Research (IndSearch), Pune. Four sessions of lectures
were conducted by Dr. Babu Joseph, Director, NIN, Dr. D.
Sathyanath, NCP, NIN, Dr. Pradeep M. K. and Dr. Boris
Dhas, Jr. Naturopaths, NIN.
Nov 27 th
- 28 th : Director, NIN, Pune attended the
International Conference on ‘Yoga in Education – 2012’
at Bengaluru, jointly organized by Tumkur University,
and SVYASA Yoga University, Bengaluru. H H Dalai Lama
inaugurated the Conference.
Nov 28 th : Director, NIN, conducted a motivation class to
the Post graduate students of MD (Naturopathy) at the
Jindal Nature Cure Institute, Bengaluru.
Nov 29 th : Director, NIN attended the meeting to discuss
implementation of National Data sharing and
Accessibility Policy in the conference room of AYUSH
Bhavan, under the Chairmanship of Shri. R.P. Singh, Joint
Secretary, Dept. of AYUSH.
Nov 30 th : Director, NIN visited the Brahm Prakash
Ayurved Sansthan, Najaf Garh, New Delhi along with
Dr. B. S. Nanerjee, Director of the Sansthan.
Dec 7 th - 10 th : NIN Participated in the State Level AROGYA
Exhibition at Lal Parade Ground, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
organized by Dept. of AYUSH, New Delhi during the
World Ayurveda Congress.
Dec 15 th : Director, NIN visited the Naturopathy Food
Fare at Dombivli, Mumbai and delivered a lecture on
“Food for Health”, to the general public.
Dec 15 th : NIN conducted a Regional Language
Workshop in ‘Marathi’ on ‘Maintenance of Health through
Naturopathy and Yoga’. 65 people participated in the
workshop.
