And who determined what hours she would do? Was she told
you have to work between 9.00 and 5.00 - - -?---No.
- - - this day and - - -?---I've got no idea about that.
She was reporting, I think, to Gary Fitzgerald and he's the
one that would have negotiated that with her and I assume
signed off on the documentation that authorised payment.
At the end of yesterday's evidence we got to the point
where I think you told us that in about May 2003 you
started to take on the responsibilities of Gary
Fitzgerald's position as the general manager of information
and resources. You did that for about three months then an
expression of interest went out. You were successful in
that and then you became the acting general manager of
information and resources. Is that correct?---Yeah, the
first three months I was doing both my job and also a
reasonable percentage of what he used to do and then, yeah,
when the expression of interest came out we - I moved
totally into the role that was left of Gary's corporate
service responsibilities which was managing HR, finance,
IT, facilities and he moved off onto projects and Cindy
Corless then moved into my role of director business
support unit.
So when did you assume responsibility as project manager of
the functional review?---I never had that responsibility.
But as acting general manager of information resources
wasn't that within your portfolio?---No. That was one of
Gary's projects that he moved off to do. My responsibility
was for the operational aspects of the corporate services
function so it was running, you know, finance, HR, IT and
facilities. Gary went off and did a number of projects and
certainly in the early days that was one of the focuses for
him as I understood it was to look at the functional review
and then manage the change management process that went
with that and that, as I understood it, stayed with Gary
all the way through the time I was there. My
responsibility was for making sure that implementing the
new structure that had been an outcome of the - you know,
the first or second phase of the functional review and
managing the day to day corporate service functions.
So you had to manage the outcome of phase 1 I and R
functional - - -?---Yeah, the new structure, yeah, and the
implementation of that.
And is it the case that you went back to your substantive
position in about January of 2004?---Yeah, that sounds -
no, not 2004. I was in that role for about - I think I
finished in about October 2004, I would have said because I
was in it for about 18 - roughly 18 months on an ongoing
basis.
