C i t y o f M e t h u e n A n n u a l R e p o r t : 2 0 1 2City CouncilThe Methuen City Council is a nine member body charged with enacting the resolutions andordinances that govern Methuen. The nine members are elected for two year terms, with threeCouncilors elected “at-large” (City Wide) and six elected from the three voting Districts (East, Central,and West) in MethuenThe East District is made up of Precincts 3,7,9 and 12, with the Central District consisting of Precincts1,2,6, and 10, and the West District consisting of precincts 4, 5, and 11. Councilors are limited byMethuen’s Charter to serving three two year terms.The Methuen City meets regularly on the first and third Mondays of each month, unless Monday is aholiday, the City Council shall meet on the Tuesday night which follows such legal holiday. Meetingsof the City Council shall be called to order promptly at 7:00 P.M. provided, however, that ifconditions require it, the Chairman of the City Council may declare the meeting will be held atanother place, with notice. During the months of June, July and August of each year, the regularmeeting of the City Council shall be held on the first Monday of each month.
